If you want to visit Manly Beach on a non-busy day, check it out on weekdays (Tuesday-Thursday), especially in the morning. However, during summer (even on weekdays), expect crowds.
You’ll see a shot of people learning to surf in the video. There is a surf school on the beach if you want to try it out. For beginners, try surfing in 1-2 foot conditions. Note: This is a beach break. If you’re looking for a point break, try the Bower in Shelly Beach.
For non-surfers, you can boogie board, body surf, get lovely tans, or simply enjoy the view with your family and friends. Be sure to swim between the flags; you don’t want to get caught in a rip. Announcements are made from time to time, so listen to avoid danger.
